Waking to the morning light, I see the clear, pristine ridgeline of the Yatsugatake Mountains outside my window. Taking a deep breath, I begin my second morning's breakfast. Each dish, a culmination of Yamanashi's local cuisine, adds a quiet touch of color to my new day.

After breakfast, we drove about 15 minutes to Sun Meadows Kiyosato. We took a 10-minute aerial stroll on the panoramic lift. Below us stretched the Nobeyama Plateau, with Mount Mt.Fuji and the Southern Alps visible on the opposite shore. Stepping off onto the terrace at an altitude of 1,900m, the Yatsugatake blue sky was right there. We stretched out our legs on a large circular sofa and surrendered ourselves to the vastness of Kiyosato.

After enjoying the breathtaking views, head to Cafe 1920. An open-air hot Hot springs bath infused with the fragrance of 250-year-old Akita cedar trees. Beyond the steam lies the ridgeline of the Yatsugatake Mountains and the twilight sky. The last morning spent by the lake in the morning mist.
On my last day, I woke up a little earlier than usual. I went to the larch lake in the courtyard, still shrouded in morning mist. In the soft light, I strolled leisurely along the 15-minute walking path around the lake. The morning was as pure as the spring water gently rippling on the lake's surface.

After a walk, I headed to Le Plateau for the third time during my stay. An omelet made with Akeno eggs, the aroma of freshly baked bread, and steaming coffee. In this familiar space, I slowly savored my last meal.

Conclude your trip to Kiyosato with a "purification ritual."
Known as the main shrine of ancient Shinto, Misogi Shrine is a sacred place for "misogi," a ritual to purify the mind and body. The Noh theater floats on the pond within the shrine grounds, and the rustling of cedar trees can be heard across the water's surface. We will once again purify the mind that was cleansed during our three days in Kiyosato.
